With assistance from independent third-party consultants, NMED has completed a series of reports that evaluate the state’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across all sectors of the economy. The state is using these reports to help track progress toward its GHG emissions reduction goals.

In December 2024, NMED released two reports: a 2005 oil and gas baseline inventory and a 2021 greenhouse gas inventory and forecast. An overview presentation is also available.
